Who was the founder of the Indian Association?

On 26 July, 1876, Surendranath Banerjee, with the help of Anand Mohan Bose, founded the Indian Association in Calcutta. It was the most important among the contemporary organizations and, before the Congress, it was regarded as an all-India organization. This organization demanded reforms in the Civil Service examination system and launched movements on issues such as controversies like the Ilbert Bill. In the Indian Association (Bharat Sabha), the middle class was given priority over the zamindars.
