Who was the founder of ‘Prarthana Samaj’?

The Prarthana Samaj was founded in 1867 in Bombay by Atmaram Pandurang, inspired by Acharya Keshab Chandra Sen. Mahadev Govind Ranade joined this institution in 1868. The main objectives of this institution were: opposition to the caste system, increasing the marriageable age of men and women, promoting widow remarriage, and encouraging women’s education. Ranade’s social reform movement continued successfully till the end of the 19ᵗʰ century.
