Explanation
During the Revolt of 1857, the 80-year-old Babu Kunwar Singh of Jagdishpur in Shahabad district of Bihar led the revolt in the state. During this revolt, Kunwar Singh said, “I am wherever I am, Jagdishpur is there.” After his death, his brother Amar Singh took over the leadership of the revolt and continued the struggle till December, 1858. Finally, William Taylor and Vincent Eyre suppressed the revolt.
