The slogan “Divide and Quit” was raised by the Muslim League leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah during the Second World War, in 1943. Jinnah and the Muslim League demanded that the British should first divide India into two parts—Hindustan and Pakistan—and then quit India. This idea was expressed in the form of the political slogan “Divide and Quit”.
