These lines of the ghazal were written by the poet Bismil Azimabadi. Bismil Azimabadi’s real name was Syed Shah Mohammad Hasan. He was born in 1901 in Hardas Bigaha village, Patna. This ghazal was written in Urdu and was published in 1921 in Qazi Abdul Ghaffar’s magazine ‘Sabah’.
