Who is popularly known as ‘Sher-e-Punjab’?

Lala Lajpat Rai was also known as “Sher-e-Punjab.” He was a leader of the extremist faction in the Indian National Congress and a representative of the whole of Punjab. He is also called “Punjab Kesari.” While leading a procession in protest against the Simon Commission, Lala Ji was injured due to lathi blows; as a result, he passed away on 17 November 1928. ## Page 39 ##
