aAlamgir- II
bShah Alam- II✓ Correct
cAkbar- II
dBahadur Shah- II
eNone of the above/More than one of the above
Explanation
The reign of Shah Alam II lasted from 1759 to 1806. His real name was Ali Gauhar. At the time of his father Alamgir II’s death, he was in Bihar. Although he was declared the Mughal emperor, due to factionalism in the Mughal court, he remained outside Delhi, and the throne of Delhi remained vacant from 1760 to 1771. In 1772, he could reach Delhi only with the help of the Marathas. During Shah Alam II’s time, the British captured Delhi (1803). Ans. (d) See the explanation of the above question.
