Explanation

The people of Harappa produced earthen pots on a large scale, and traces of red colour are found on them. In the Harappan civilization, the potter’s wheel was also used to make pottery. On the basis of design, these pots were of two categories—plain (without design) pots and painted pottery. Sand was mixed with the clay used for making pottery; after firing, it took on a light brownish-red colour.
