When was the Indian Independence Bill passed by the House of Lords in England?

On the basis of the Mountbatten Plan, the Indian Independence Bill was introduced in the British Parliament on 4 July 1947. It was passed by the House of Commons on 15 July 1947 and by the House of Lords on 16 July 1947. Thereafter, the Bill received Royal Assent on 18 July 1947. Mountbatten announced that after Partition, the issues of the princely states falling in the two new countries—India and Pakistan—would be settled separately by “States Departments.” Nehru entrusted the responsibility of the “States Department” for the integration of the princely states to Sardar Patel. Sardar Patel took charge on 5 July, 1947, and V.P. Menon took charge as his Secretary.
