When was the Damodar Valley Corporation established?

After the consent of Bihar and West Bengal, the Central Government passed the Damodar Valley Corporation Act (Act No. XIV) in March 1948. Under this Act, on 7 July 1948, the Damodar Valley Corporation, the first multi-purpose river valley project of independent India, came into existence.
