The all-round development of any community—such as physical, social, moral, and cultural development—is called “community development” (Community Development). Community development includes all important elements of life such as agriculture, animal husbandry, irrigation, co-operatives, education, health, social productive activities, communication, village industries, panchayats, etc. According to the United Nations, “Community development denotes the processes by which the efforts of the people themselves are united with those of governmental authorities to improve the economic, social and cultural conditions of communities, to integrate these communities into the life of the nation, and to enable them to contribute fully to national progress.” Ans.
