It breaks lipids into fatty acids and monoglycerides. Lipase is naturally present in the juices secreted by the salivary glands, pancreas, and stomach. Bile has no digestive enzyme, yet it helps in the digestion and absorption of lipids. It emulsifies fats (emulsification). The enzyme pepsin helps in the digestion of proteins.
