Explanation
The objective of the Antyodaya Programme is to help the poorest among the poor. The idea of Antyodaya was propounded by Mahatma Gandhi. He treated the benefit to the poorest/weakest person in society as the yardstick for judging any step or policy. This “last person–centred” thought is the core of the Antyodaya concept. However, the credit for making the idea or philosophy of Antyodaya widely popular goes to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
