Explanation

The concept of mobile courts in India was first envisioned by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Therefore, mobile courts are regarded as his “brainchild”. On 4 August 2007, the country’s first mobile court was inaugurated in Punhana, located in the present Nuh district of Haryana (then Mewat district). It was inaugurated by the then Chief Justice of India, K.G. Balakrishnan. Its objective is to extend the benefits of the judicial system to remote and backward areas.
