According to the Bihar Economic Survey 2018–19, during 2017–18 the growth rate of the tertiary sector in Bihar at constant (2011–12) prices and current prices was 14.6 percent and 17.9 percent respectively. During the same period, the growth rates of the primary sector at constant (2011–12) prices and current prices were 1.4 percent and 6.1 percent respectively, and for the secondary sector they were 2.5 percent and 4.1 percent respectively. According to the Bihar Economic Survey 2024–25, in 2023–24 (Q) the estimated growth rates at constant prices for the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors are 5.7 percent, 8.2 percent and 10.8 percent respectively.
