(638) ## Page 37 The Government of Bihar launched the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme on 5 August, 2018. This scheme was started for extremely poor families, including those traditionally associated with the production, transportation and sale of country liquor and toddy (whose economic condition weakened after the implementation of prohibition in the State), as well as targeted extremely poor families from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other communities. This initiative aims to build self-confidence among identified families and develop entrepreneurial skills. After completion of training, each targeted family is allocated up to ₹2 lakh under the Livelihood Investment Fund.
