In opposition to the Faraizi movement, the Taiyuni movement was launched in Dhaka in 1839, and it was led by Karamat Ali of Jaunpur. The Faraizi movement was started by Haji Shariatullah in 1818. The main area of this movement was Eastern Bengal, and its objective was to eliminate social innovations or non-Islamic practices prevalent among the Muslims of the region. Note : The Taiyuni movement began in 1839, not in 1893. The Commission excluded this question from evaluation.
