Sky is blue because –
aBlue color in the sunlight is more than other colors
bShort waves are scattered more than long waves by atmosphere✓ Correct
cBlue color is more absorbing to eyes
dAtmosphere absorbs long wavelength more than short wavelength
Explanation
The sky appears blue because Rayleigh scattering of the Sun’s white light occurs in the atmosphere. Small atmospheric particles scatter shorter wavelengths more than longer wavelengths. Since blue and violet have shorter wavelengths, they scatter more; however, violet is less visible to us, so mainly the scattered blue light reaches our eyes. Therefore, the sky looks blue.
