During the period of Governor-General Lord Ellenborough (1842–44), Sindh was fully annexed into the British Empire by Charles Napier in 1843. According to P.E. Roberts, “The conquest of Sindh took place after the Afghan War (1839–42) and was, morally and politically, its outcome.”
