Explanation

Mughal painting reached its peak during Jahangir’s reign. Jahangir was a highly skilled connoisseur of painting. In the Mughal style, while painting human figures, it was common that in the same painting different painters painted the face, the body and the legs. Jahangir claimed that he could identify the separate contributions of different painters in any painting. Besides painting hunting, war and royal court scenes, there was special progress during Jahangir’s reign in the art of painting humans and animals. Abul Hasan made a painting of Jahangir’s coronation, which was placed on the main page of Jahangir’s autobiography Tuzuk-i-Jahangiri. Jahangir’s period is called the Golden Age of Mughal painting.
