Under the Citizenship Act, 1955 (as amended from time to time), Indian citizenship can be acquired through the following methods-(1) by birth, (2) by descent, (3) by registration, (4) by naturalization and (5) by incorporation of a territory into India. Depositing money in an Indian bank is a commercial act. It is not a method of acquiring citizenship.
