Explanation
In 1913, under the leadership of Sohan Singh Bhakna, an organization named the “Pacific Coast Hindustan Association” was established at Portland (Oregon), USA. Its headquarters were in San Francisco. This organization started publishing a newspaper named “Ghadar”, due to which the organization also came to be known as the Ghadar Party. Lala Har Dayal was the chief ideologue and guiding force of this organization. Its other members included—Ram Chandra, Barkatullah, Rash Behari Bose, Bhai Parmanand, etc.
