Explanation

On 9 August, 1942, Gandhiji and other prominent Congress leaders were taken into custody. Gandhiji and Sarojini Naidu were detained at Aga Khan Palace in Poona, and members of the Congress Working Committee (Jawaharlal Nehru, Abul Kalam Azad, Govind Ballabh Pant, Dr. Prafulla Chandra Ghosh, Dr. Pattabhi Sitaramayya, Dr. Syed Mahmud, Acharya J. B. Kripalani, etc.) were kept at Ahmednagar Fort. Since Rajendra Prasad, a member of the Congress Working Committee, had not gone to Bombay, he was arrested in Patna itself and detained in Bankipur Jail.
