In 2022–23 (provisional) and 2023–24 (quick estimate), the share of agriculture, forestry and fishing in Bihar’s gross state value added was 20.2 percent and 19.5 percent respectively. In 2024–25 (up to January 2025), the estimated number of persons employed in Bihar’s silk sector was 0.24 lakh. In 2023, about 2.914 million hectares area in Bihar was affected by floods.
