Explanation
Parliament is the supreme legislative body of India. The Indian Parliament consists of the President and two Houses—Rajya Sabha (Council of States) and Lok Sabha (House of the People). The President has the power to summon or prorogue either House of Parliament, and to dissolve the Lok Sabha. Financial authorisation relating to the Consolidated Fund of India, the Contingency Fund of India and the Public Account of India is given only by Parliament.
