Explanation
As the economy develops, the share of the tertiary sector (service sector) in national income keeps increasing, while the share of the primary sector, which includes agriculture and allied activities as well as mining and quarrying, gradually declines. As per the Provisional Estimates of National Income 2024-25 released on 30 May 2025, in India’s nominal GVA (at current prices) the contributions of the primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector are 19.7 percent, 25.3 percent and 55 percent, respectively. ## Fiscal Policy & Revenue
