According to the India Meteorological Department, under Köppen’s climate classification scheme, the districts located in the south-eastern part of Bihar State, namely Jamui, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Sheikhpura (entire parts) and some parts of Bhagalpur, Saharsa and Begusarai fall under Aw type climatic region, whereas the remaining parts of the State fall under Cwa type climatic region. According to NCERT, the Cwg climatic condition extends over the Gangetic Plains, eastern Rajasthan, northern Madhya Pradesh and most parts of north-eastern India. Since both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are included in the Gangetic Plains, Cwg climatic condition is found in both the States. On this basis, the Bihar Public Service Commission considered option (b) as the correct answer.
